Laze
So last night I was incredibly sick. I don’t know what brought it on, but I was knocked out cold. My allergies were killing me as well. With everything that has been going on lately, I’m a bit behind on my schoolwork, but I’m dilligently moving along and catching up. It’s going to be killer once midterms hit and Marshall decides to crash the party. Only time will tell. I must remain disciplined!
The guys I work with at the shop are pretty lazy. The supervisors aren’t all that helpful either. They don’t really enforce much. I guess this is what I get for working with union workers. I do like my new job, though. I get to spend a lot of time by myself doing various landscaping duties. I get higher pay than my last job (worked as a manager at Quiznos) and I don’t have to deal with a crappy owner and annoying customers anymore. I just get a peaceful setting to work in and clear my head. It’s rather relaxing even if I’m sweating up a storm at the same time. That’s okay, though, because the weather is looking much better in the near future. It’s nice working with Em, though. Although we don’t work in the same shop, we see each other around campus and occasionally do a little here and there together. Tomorrow we have a big all-crew meeting with the big honcho, so Em and I will get to be together for that.
Em and I have finally gotten a pretty pat system going with our bills, and it feels really good. It’s taken her a little bit to get used to using Microsoft Money, but she’s caught on, and we’re both on the same page. We’ve been slowly chugging away at our debt and have completely paid off her credit card. Fortunately, pretty much all of our debt is student related, so we’re not swamped in high interest funnels of credit death. We’ll get it all taken care of sooner than later. This is when my enlistment bonus with the Army comes in handy… and all of the other benefits we get. Man, I love those bonuses.
Speaking of money, it’ll be interesting to see how things work out in the future with Emily staying home. We’ve decided that she is going to be a stay at home mother, and we both feel this is the best decision. It’s very important that she be home to raise our children as long as we can financially support it. We’ve been particularly blessed since we’ve established a system for our tithing. We pay our tithing immediately after we receive our paychecks, and a few times when we were first getting started in our marriage paying tithing right away would have put us in the red… but somehow it all worked out. Our bank account actually change out of the blue a couple times and I still to this day can’t figure out how it happened. I’m just glad we decided to put our faith in the tithing. We’ve been very blessed.
Anyways, I need some sleep, especially since I"m going to have a LOT of work to do tomorrow in the SPAM lab. À demain!
