Auditioned

Allison and I had a heck of a time lining up the camera for this shot… hehe.

I woke up this morning thoroughly confused.  Laura was watching TV and I was drooling all over the pillow on the couch.  Apparently I’d fallen asleep in a mental drunken stupor hanging halfway off of the couch.

Yeah, I know this is certainly the image you really wanted to see of me… but whatever.  It happened.  =0P  The rest of the day has gone pretty well, though.  Allison came over earlier this afternoon and we spent a lot of time talking about how things have been going on in our lives.  I’m kind of jealous that Allison is living in Kansas City.  I grew up there and have many fond memories of the town.  I haven’t been back there in far too many years.  But anyways… I digress.  I attempted to fix her computer, but she didn’t have enough time to stick around for a complete reformat, so we did our best to clean out the junk and get her computer running like normal again.  I think we had a certain level of success, though.  Her computer no longer hacks hairballs.

Tomorrow night I have my first rehearsal for the stake show choir.  Yeah… me… singing.  It’s kind of funny to me as well, but apparently my audition went well enough to get me a part.  Probably the most humorous part of the whole audition was that the director was laughing at me as we went up the scale to test out my range.  What can I say?  I can get up there with the rest of them.  I believe she’s going to have me singing bartone and bass, though.  I think some tenor may be in my future as well, though.  The whole audition was a last minute ordeal anyways.  I walked out of my meeting with the bishop and Joey was standing there asking if I wanted to audition… so I kind of just grabbed an audition slip, filled out the information and walked in completely blind.  I think this will be pretty fun anyways, so I’m looking forward to our first rehearsal tomorrow night.

Tomorrow I’m supposed to get an e-mail back from the director at Columbia’s transportation department.  I’m waiting to get the thumbs up to make a presentation on a Google Earth overlay for the city’s bus system.  It’s going to be really cool if I get the job.  What’s even better is that they’re going to pay me… VERY well… for the job.  And imagine the resume entry this will be.  It’s amazing what a little idea will do for you.

Well, I think it’s time I hit the sack.  Just for one night I’d like to stop dreaming about a friendship I can’t have anymore.

I do still read you, even though I haven’t been commenting lately. Every time I see your picture I am amazed by how much you look just like one of my brothers’ (I have five brothers) friends. Holy wow. 🙂
