Games

My goodness… this whole avoidance game is getting old and stupid really quickly.  It’s not like I’m the ebola virus.  I’m a freaking human being.  I’m only trying my best just to be a good friend.  Ugh… whatever.

I feel sorry for Laura… she felt bad tonight when she got back.  I’d cleaned up the apartment and put out all my movies… moved things around… pretty much whatever I could to make the place nice for the girls, then I made plans to leave for the evening so that they could use the place.  Laura saw what I’d done and apologized that they hadn’t come back… but it really wasn’t her fault.  I just felt bad that she, herself, felt bad.  She’d brought up the point that they could use the apartment but apparently the avoidance game won over.  Ugh… it’s just so dumb.  It’s hardly her fault at all.  Oh well… all I can really do is try to be acommodating whether I’m wanted there or not.

Anywho, so I went over to Amber’s place with Joey and Josh tonight.  We had a pretty fun time.  Things got really weird, though… probably just because we’re really odd people.  Apparently we were cracking some harmless jokes that dealt with gay people not knowing that Jeremy – one of Amber’s friends who had come over – was actually gay himself.  When Amber told us, we felt horrible, but Amber did tell us that he didn’t mind, and that he knew it was just some harmless banter.  I was definitely relieved to hear that.  I have several gay and bisexual friends and I love them just as much as I love anyone else.  Anyways, the night went pretty well.  We helped Amber build her baker’s shelving unit and Amber asked if I could burn some DVDs for her.  She let me borrow a bunch of hers to burn for myself as well, so I picked a few I really liked.

I biked out to Best Buy today.  I got a partial refund on the DVD player I got earlier since they dropped their prices.  I love biking around Columbia.  It’s nice to see that most of the drivers respect bikers.  I’ve had very few issues, and the few I have had haven’t been very dire.  I had one girl talking on a cell phone cut me off turning into her neighborhood off of Worley the other week, though.  Apparently she felt she could beat me at the turn.  She came so close to my bike that I kicked the rear fender to let her know I was there.  She stopped, flicked me off, and drove off.  I mean seriously… how rude can you get?  She clearly has the bigger machine and I obviously could have been seriously hurt had she gone any earlier.  I don’t ride my bike around without my helmet at all anymore.  I just don’t feel comfortable without it.

Kevin and Daniel are going to help me next week get the SlimView TV back to the Best Buy tech office so they can do a resale on it.  I’ll be able to get a nicer tv without spending a penny.  Man… learning to fix electronics has some serious benefits.  Especially when you’ve got some insider friends who work at a major electronics retail store… sweetness.

I’m off to bed.  Church tomorrow.  Hopefully I can get a ride.
