Much Delayed

Three weeks ago:

I love the Texas Eagle Amtrak service to Chicago.   It is always late so that even though I never get there on-time because my father forgets where Union Station is I can still make it on the train.  The real reason I like it though, is that its cars are more spacious by about a mile.  I have 2 seats to myself and I am sprawled out, food on one tray stand and the laptop on the other.  It’s a great 6 and a half hours if you don’t have anywhere to be, like a wedding, or some such other time sensitive occasion to get to.  If you do the Ann Rutlage is a better bet, but it too is prone to engine failure.  Thank G-d it’s not a plane.  Chicago to St. Louis should not be 8 hours.  I’m reveling in the fact that my cell phone plan no longer has roaming charges.   It’s good to be able to use it when I actually want to, without wondering.  When I went to the dinning cart I was rather confused by the lack of the usual counter behind which the attendant stands and importantly asks you what you want.  My query into this situation revealed that the usual dinning carts had been sent to New Orleans.  I’ve heard far too much about what isn’t being done and it was good to run into instances of actual progress.  At TJ Max yesterday I saw 4 or 5 racks of clothing being de-tagged and sent that way.  My summer is almost actually over.   I suppose I’m satisfied with it.  This may be the first summer in memory that I don’t look back on and wonder where it went.  I know where it went.  I worked, and I read, and I saw San Diego, and I put together a website.  Yes, if you want a laugh go to http://www.abrakid.com.  Computer incompetent me did that with HTML in notepad.  I’ve still got a week and a half to wait before classes actually start up again.  Orientation should be “interesting.”   I’ll let you all know how I do with a discussion of Sex Signals.   If she says no, she means no, if she says yes, she means no, just don’t have sex children =P.  I really wanted to talk about City Life, I actually have something to say about that, but anyway.  It’ll be good for me.  It’s amazing how much stuff I’m looking at doing this year.  All I need for this summer to seem adequate is to finish reading Master I Margarita in Russian, hopefully this long train ride will help with that.

Today:

School has started with a vengeance.  It’s amazing how long it has taken me to get this up here.  Sorry about that.  Hope everyone is doing well.

“Much Delayed” — understatement. Sorry I didn’t call you back; I wasn’t sure if I should since I got your message really late at night.
