Underway Entry…

I am not sure when I am going to get this posted…but I am going to go ahead and work on this and see just where I go. Right now we are underway…the first time I have been underway since the ship pulled into San Diego at the end of deployment. When the ship did go and off load it’s ammo I was able to stay behind…I can’t even remember what I had to do back then…all I know is that I didn’t get underway that time. That was…going on four months ago. I’m lucky to remember things from a week ago. Never the less I am out here now…well over two days of being underway. We aren’t going to be back in until Wednesday, and it will be in the afternoon…and no one is going to get out any time before 1600. Talk about a waste of a day…! Then Thursday and Friday aren’t going to be any better for the crew. I at least have a reason to leave early Thursday…I will be seeing my kids at 1400…and I am not going to miss that at all. Then Friday I have a doctor’s appointment at 10:00 am. I will talk to my “boss” and see if I can just “skip” the day. By the time I get done and into work it will be noon…if not later. What will I do for three hours on a Friday…? I can get three hours of work in on my car…that’s what I can do. And I have work to do now. I have gotten new strut mounts; I have one more strut on order. So that will give me two new struts in the front…and “newer” mounts. At least these aren’t all worn out, and broken like the ones I have now. I am not sure when I will get an alignment on my Mazda…maybe once I get the new strut and mounts in that will take care of the “lean” that my car has. I don’t know…only time will tell. Not sure if I would go for the lifetime on the alignment though. Not sure my Mazda would worth getting a lifetime on it or not. One good thing about getting the strut mounts, I have some nice looking boots for the struts. I was really surprised about the cost that I was asked to pay for the struts, but at the same time I guess 65 dollars for two hole struts isn’t bad. I will get things taken apart and then take the core back down there and get 4 dollars back. If I get it done before the 26th. That is why I want that Friday off…get me some time to work on my car, and then Saturday I will take the stuff back to the place I got it from and go looking again for some stuff for my car. I was able to find an ’86 626…the only difference was the one in the yard was not a turbo. I have a turbo…I am going to see what the valve cover bolts and gaskets look like…get some tubing. I would go for the shock mounts, but I looked at one of them on my car, and the one I checked looked good…the shocks are just shot…period. Those are going to be 25 dollars each. I could go for the boots on the shocks…take them off the “wrecked” car. Not sure how I would do that though…but I’m sure I could figure something out. I always do. I know I need a pair of vice grips for going to the wreck yard. Some places will get the parts for you, the place I was at the other day you get the parts yourself. I think that is pretty cool…even if the price was a shock. Never the less, I have found a 626, so why not just go back and see what else I can use…

I still have two hours left on watch…hope I am able to post this tonight. Not every time we are going to have inter-net underway. There was an upgrade installed on the ship while we were in the yards, and well it gives us inter-net underway. It’s slow…but hey it’s better than nothing at all. I will try to read the diary’s that were updated…not sure if I will be able to leave notes…but I will try. I did read my notes…and I will write back when I back home on my high-speed hook up. I need to pay that bill…that’s the only one that is not paid right now. When I see the kids Thursday, I will give the mother in law the check for 550 dollars. That will take care of that, then storage for 80. Cable is like…oh wait, I think I did pay that off…I can’t remember. Oh wait, it’s the library fine that I have. That is what I have to take care of. Once that is paid off, it should take care of just about everything that is outstanding on my bills. There is one check that I have to talk to my credit union about…see if I can get it cleared up, and let Wal Mart know that it was done without my knowledge. There is no way I will ask “her” about it, because she will say that she didn’t do it…and by the way she signed the check she can say that is wasn’t her. I did not do it…but she did put my social number on it. There was my mailing address, so that is why I am stuck with it. People are just so not right, I swear. It was a check for 54 dollars or so…no more than 56 dollars. I can pay it off without a problem should I need to. But I am going to see what my credit union says first. It’s only money right…? Still waiting on getting half that tax return back too…2300 dollars from 4600 return. That will help me take care of some more things…and maybe get a couch. Not that I needed an 800 dollar couch…I just liked it. A simple 400 couch would work…not that I am going to get used…nope, nope, nope…
