Goodbye summer, hello chaos…
The last few weekends have been very nice. A few weeks ago L and I went to Brown County for an day trip while the girls were with my folks. Normally I wouldn’t have been too excited about it but surprisingly had a very nice time. It ended with some wine and cheese sitting in a covered porch watching the world go by. The next week started early when we took a few days of and headed to King’s Island. It had been ages since we’d been there and a first time for the girls. C was just tall enough to get on all the coasters so away she, H, and I went. L was content to watch from the side. I would have been bored but she enjoyed seeing all that was around her. I was a proud parent – both my girls are officially coaster lovers now. From there we went camping for a few days at McCormick’s Creek and worked the trails. Fires were great as was the escape from the world. For the girls, it was their last hurrah as school started 2 days later. Finally last weekend was more small things and more for me. Fever and Colts games with a cookout sandwiched in between. The cookout itself should have been more fun but many people didn’t show. Oh well, still good to be outside.
So now it is time to face the music. Our semester starts in a week and t add more excitement, a reorganization plan for IT in our school was finally announced. Most of the faculty are not too happy with it Not sure how I feel about it either but it could be much worse. The plan itself is light on the details but that’s fine. We’ll work that out amongst ourselves. I am not overly thrilled about a few things I am giving up and not entirely sure how well a coworker and I will be as peers in the same group. I’m supposed to be the team leader but we both report to someone else. Now sure how that is going to work but at least we have always seen eye to eye on most things. We’ll figure it out.
So once more into the breach and this time with drama but in the end, we’ll come out in great shape. I’ll make sure of it.
Those weekend trips sound like fun. The girls will always have great memories of them. (I’m a fan of coasters too, until I start puking! lol) I hope the semester starts off easier than it looks. It’s never fun to start with drama.

So, if I’m not mistaken, you work for the school and attend the school too?
