Day of the Haiku

Important meeting at work:

Speaker boringly rambles on

Loud snores escape from my mouth

Boss is not amused

Stuck in traffic:

Many frowning faces stare

Like troop of angry baboons

Countless middle fingers fly

At the gym:

Sweat flows while tying shoes

Snickers echo as I shower

Stomach now has own zip-code

At home:

Favorite shoes now tainted

Having found steaming gift

Left by neighbor’s dog

Working on project with co-writer:

She has endless river of written words

I am still staring at screen

Her anger steadily grows

End of day:

Television is harsh mistress

Down to last lonely beer

Sleep cures all
