Fade

In a room built upon the stones of hidden confessions, I watch her silhouette float across the wall. She moves easily in the darkness as if she is swimming through familiar waters. I am mesmerized by the graceful outline of her shadow caressed body. Each motion from her pulls me in deeper. A simple toss of her hair entrances me.

My bed is the only alter that I can offer, the only sacrifice that she will accept. As light as a dream she slips into my mind, surrendering herself with soft whispers, gently calling my name. I follow her sighs into the depths of her feminine mystery, without concern for the condemnation that the morning Saints will cast upon my conscience.

The fever of seduction burns away our virtues, and we are driven to drink from the cup of temptation. At this moment, we are both searching, desperately reaching for the salvation that will remind us of our humanness…of our need to be wanted, if only for a few treasured hours.

Together, we fade into the night, open and unafraid, revealing glimpses of our secret selves… both of us willing to pay the cost for our eternal transgression.
