The Fair
Neon multi coloured
crazy lights flicker on
and off as flies smack
into them and die
and the power surges
and shorts.
Shadows appear
and move and change
and everywhere is
fluorescent green and blue.
People walk in crowds
and couples and children
seem to dance and scream.
I look towards the
waltser, to find you,
but all I see are strangers.
You said to meet at
the waltser at half ten,
so I scan the crowds
for you whilst the
bells and whistles and
crazy jarring music
dip and swell.
Everything is in flux,
everything is moving and
changing.
I turn and see you
walking towards me.
