I love to eat fried green tomatoes! Yum. I have some tomatoes in my greenhouse, also green since I didn’t plant (plants) until August 23rd! (When I moved into the rental house with the greenhouse).

Nice! haha.

You didn’t plant them, just left them at surface? I have some tomatoes that are doing really well and had considered saving a tomato from the hedge for next year.

Good deal. That used to happen to me when I tilled the garden each spring. I’d have random tomato plants coming up all over the place from the tomato’s that laid on the ground and rotted… The kids loved it cuz they thought it was magic…

I adore homegrown tomatoes. Unfortunately, they need a whole lot more tending here to get to the point yours have. Ever tried green tomato chutney?Yum!

I have a volunteer cherry tomato plant this year. My neighbor’s two-year-old loves to come and choose a ripe tomato now and then. She really gets a kick out of it. Tiny person, tiny tomato.

I have respect for the tenacity of those tomatoes. Celebrate their spirit while you eat them.

How cool that they grew and produced! Your season is too short to get much, but maybe you can try it again next year? RYN- Yes… our rain was near the record for all time! I was really concerned for a while there! : )

Heheh 🙂 Nothing in my garden gets much attention: I’m a ‘sink or swim’ type of gardener. *Is curious* Do those ones ripen to red or are they fated to be green no matter how long you leave them on the plant?
