Mmmmm…

I slept so well last night 🙂

It was a nice, long, lazy day where I did nothing of great importance.  I worked from 5-8.30 (and actually got out of there at 8.30) and went Monday Night Bowling with Nathan, Tweak, Krispy and Billiam.

And OH MAN was it packed.  No more than a few months ago, we were the only people there while we bowled.  Now they have a sign taped to the counter telling us that if there aren’t at least 4 people on our lane, they WILL add people to it.  Every single lane had people on it.  It was ridiculous.

We all kinda sucked it up.  I managed to go three frames without hitting a single pin in the second game.  Then at the end I got double strikes *shrugs*

Classes start today.

Nathan’s already at his first class.  Mine isn’t until 11, and boy does he not love me right now 😀
I have English 385 (Major Authors) and English 214 (American Lit from 1900 to present or something).
I’m also going to show up to the other section of 214, because it’s Writing Emphasis, and hope that someone skipped their first day.

For those of you who aren’t subject to the bitchy GDRs of UW-Stevens Point, let me explain.
Before we graduate, we need to take 2 classes with Writing Emphasis.  In order to have these classes, professors need to go through a special summer course certification, and there really can’t be that many available.  Most WE classes only have about 20 seats in them, and there are generally only a few offered every semester.

Needless to say, it’s a mad scramble to get into them.  Generally speaking, if you’re not a second semester senior, you probably won’t get into one at all.

Also, they’re sort of arbitrarily chosen.  There are very few English WE courses, and most of them are in random classes that don’t apply to anyone’s major.  So, in order to take my required WE courses, I have to throw away 6 credits on some class I don’t care about.
But I HAVE to take English 214, and there just so HAPPENS to be 1 section of it which is WE.  I’m doing everything I can to get into it, by showing up to the first class, hoping someone else who signed up for it doesn’t, and therefore automatically drops the course.

Yeah.  Pain in the butt.

The good news is, however, that I’m done at 3.15, 5 if you count the second class of 214.  I have a government meeting tonight at 8, then after that I’m sure I’ll be homeworking it up.

It’s good to be back.
