Nerdfighters making history: The John Green Story.

Yesterday, August 24th, was John Green’s birthday.

John is a WONDERFUL author of the books Looking for Alaska, An Abundance of Katherines, and the soon-to-be-released Paper Towns.
He is also a part of the VlogBrothers, with his brother Hank Green, who have been making regular video blogs as a means of communication between each other since January 1st of 2007.

In the year and a half that these brothers have been vloging to each other, they have developed a rather obsessive (but awesome) band of followers; the Nerdfighters.

I am one of them.

This year, for John’s birthday, Hank Green e-mailed the Nerdfighters with a request – to have as many of us as possible pre-order John’s new book (on his birthday) and try to skyrocket John to NYTimes Best Seller-dom.

As of last night, Paper Towns is the #3 top selling book on BN.com, and #9 on Amazon.  This puts him past both J.K. Rowling and Stephanie Meyer.  He hasn’t quite reached Best Seller-dom, but he’s far closer than he would have ever believed.

And it’s all thanks to those made-of-awesome Nerdfighters.

But there aren’t enough of us.

So I’m asking you, my favorites and any random reader who stopped here for no particular reason.  Pre-order Paper Towns.  John is an amazing author, you can ask anyone who has read his work (I’ve read both books, and they’re both good reads that get you to think).

I promise you, you’ll get your money’s worth.
