Oye, dios mio.

I got a really awkward call a few days ago.
My mom called and seemed pretty upset about something.  She was crying already when I answered.  My mind immediately went to Natalie and the baby, and I was really scared.

It turns out my grandma has breast cancer.  We’re hoping that everything’s going to be okay, because it was caught early.  She has surgery next Tuesday to remove her right breast, and I’m trying really hard to get out of a shift of week this weekend so that I can go home and see her beforehand.  It was just my grandparents’ anniversary last weekend, too.

In better news, I’m making decent money at work.  I’m kinda looking forward to Friday and getting a huge paycheck (huge for me still probably being pretty tiny for anyone else), since I’m used to between $9-$15 per check.  This’ll be the biggest check I’ve gotten since I was training back in September.  I got a temporary tattoo with my tip on Friday night, and a bar & grill owner’s phone number and a $9 tip from him on Sunday night.  He wrote on the card "Nice job" then put the address of his place on the back and wrote "We’re hiring!"  So we’ll see how much my bosses tick me off over the next few weeks haha.

I’m also working at the Y again suddenly.  I worked on Saturday and I work the Saturday after next (how it’s actually supposed to work) and the Saturday after that, but that’s for someone else in a different part of the Y, with younger kids who don’t swear and beat each other up and get in your face when you don’t let them steal candy or pool balls.  So it’ll be fun.

I need to get out and do something that’s not work or go to Debot.  I feel like (once again) I have no friends here other than Jaz because I don’t ever do anything with any of my friends.  Nick’s always hanging out with other people, Audrey’s work/sleep schedule and mine don’t really go together, Tiff has her own friends who do a lot of stuff I’d rather not participate in… and that’s everyone.

I’m just glad Nathan got back into Point for next year.  Then at least I’ll have him to pester when he’s not selling his soul to the theatre department.

So, my to-do list for the week (in order of when I need to do them)
* Do my writing for independent writing
* Do my readings for English 213
* Do my readings for English 212
* Find someone to work for me on Sunday (>.<)
* Finish up my final draft of my short story for Creative Writing
* Go to work tonight 10 – 6
* Go to work Friday 10 – 6.
