[o2o] Festival of Trees

Tonight I went to the Festival of Trees with my parents and my hubby.

First we went out to dinner at an Irish Pub. The appetizers were pretty bland, but the entrees weren’t bad. It was nice having a kind of double date with my parents. We’ve never been able to do that before. Usually my little brother and my Grammy are always with us. I enjoyed it. Felt like a grown up 😉

After dinner, we went to this huge building where the Festival of Trees was. At the Festival of Trees, there’s a bunch of Christmas trees decorated and donated by different companies and organizations. You can buy as many tickets as you want, and put them in for the trees you like. And then they raffle them all off. Some of the trees were so gorgeous! They all had different themes. I put tickets in for a bunch of them, but I would really love to win the Wizard of Oz themed one. It was so cool. All sorts of Wizard of Oz ornaments on it, and the tree skirt was the Wicked Witch of the West’s legs sticking out (stripe socks and ruby slippers included!). It was awesome. There was also an awesome Grinch one that had the Grinch attempting to stuff the tree up a chimney (the tree itself was actually almost sideways!). So much work must have went into those trees. I wish I’d had my camera there, I would have taken so many pictures! Anyway, I hope we win one. That’d be amazing. We won’t know until Sunday, though. I’ll keep my fingers crossed 😉
