[o17] Being Remembered.

So this is a thought that I forgot to write about last night.

Yesterday at my full-time (retail) job, I saw a little boy that I had in class sometime last school year (I’m a substitute teacher). He was in the Special Ed Preschool that I’ve subbed for many many times. And I think the last time I saw him was around a year ago. I recognized him, but even more shocking was that he remembered me! I said to his mother "He was in SEED last year, right?" And she was like "Yes! He said he knew you, but I just thought he was being silly!" Haha. It makes me feel really good about myself to know that some of these kids actually remember me. There are very few moments where substitute teachers get to feel appreciated, and that was definitely one of them. Knowing that I had some kind of positive impact on a child’s life, no matter how small, makes it all worth while. That’s just one of the many reasons I want to be a teacher. I personally remember almost all of my teachers fondly. And hopefully I will be able to make that same kind of lasting impression on many kids for years to come.

With that said, I’m off to bed. Thanks for reading!

.xoxo.

RYN: NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) takes place every November. I acutally find I do a lot more writing with I have a deadline imposed. Go figure… But the only advice I can give is to just write. It doesn’t matter if it’s a novel, short story, poem or even batman fan fiction, as long as you’re writing and enjoying it, it’s a good first step to getting back into the swing of things. Later,
