Mex-I-Can’t

It has been brought to my attention that apparently I speak way too much about Mexicans.  I’m not going to deny the fact that I do.  Have you also noticed that I seem to have nothing but negative to say about them too?  You see, I grew up in San Diego, CA.  I went to school in Los Angeles.  I still live in California and I can’t go 30 feet without running into a Mexican.  I can’t go into a store without someone trying to talk to me in Spanish, as though I have "official translator" scrawled across my forehead.  Apparently since I look Mexican, I also speak Spanish and I’m always more than willing to translate for those who don’t the English language.  I can’t go to the local Target or Wal-Mart without someone trying to sell me a sack of tamales or homemade tortillas in the parking lot, as though the only reason I go to Target or Wal-Mart is to buy food in the parking lot.  It’s also because of that sort of thing that I will maintain my stance on not carrying cash on my person at any time.  Still, I suspect that someday someone out there will gladly accept credit cards for their batches of homemade goodies and then I’ll have to stop carrying my wallet altogether.  I can’t drive through some of the local streets without having to pause for the million and half Mexican kids who think that the neighborhood and city streets are nothing more than a paved playground, strictly designed just for them.  Let’s not for a moment give any recognition to the fact that motor vehicles also occupy those very streets that these little Mexican kids think is their very own playpen.  I can’t roll down the local interstate without seeing the ungodly amounts of vandalism being done to billboards, freeway signs, and barricades.  You don’t know just how tired and fed up I am, seeing all of that damn "Sur 13" crap tagged everywhere I look.  I can see someone wanting to tag their neighborhood to show that it’s "their" neighborhood, but freeway signs and billboards?  Are they trying to tell the rest of us that they own this section of the I-10, or that section of the I-15?  Have taggers run out of real estate in their respective neighborhoods?  Are they now migrating towards claiming freeways and roadways in general?  You see, everywhere I go, I’m reminded of all of the bad stuff that Mexicans do and unless I relocate, I’m going to keep being reminded.

I’m sure that there’s a whole lot more that gets on my nerves about Mexicans, but this is just a thumbnail sketch of some of the nonsense I have to put up with almost on a daily basis.  I’m not saying that Mexicans aren’t contributing anything positive to the areas I frequent, but more often than not, all I ever see is negativity.  I wish that this wasn’t my reality, but it’s something that I can’t run from.  I talk about Mexicans because yes, a lot of their antics bother me.  And I’m not talking "bother" like a fly or a gnat might bother someone.  No, nothing like that.  I’m talking "bother" more like a flesh-eating bacteria.  I know that there are good Mexicans out there, those who work hard and aren’t involved in criminal activity or delinquent behavior.  Unfortunately, I just don’t seem to run into any of them that often.  I don’t "hate on" those who have made something of themselves and it doesn’t make any difference what color they might be.  I have no problem giving credit where credit is due.  It’s just that when the time comes for me to give credit, it’s usually negative and my usual targets happen to be Mexicans.
