There’s always money in the banana stand
Random bits and bobs while watching Arrested Development.
I must admit that I’m bummed about Roseanne getting axed. Don’t get me wrong, what she said was absolutely reprehensible and I don’t think that ABC made the right choice as much as the only choice they could make. But, I was a fan of the show back in the day and loved the reboot.
There’s also the fact that there was something kinda inevitable about what happened.
I watched a fascinating documentary about Miranda Barbour earlier on. I’m not sure what to make of her and the question of if she’s a serial killer or not. It’s intriguing. I’m kinda leaning towards liar.
Stayed up last night to watch the Scotland game. Kinda wish I hadn’t really, but there you go. Actually, I didn’t so much stay up as I’m usually up at that time anyway.
Anyone keeping up with this thing in Ukraine? Where they pretended that a Russian journalist had been killed? Pretty fucked up and I’m guessing that he’s not going home anytime soon.
Holy hell am I ever sick of explaining to people why what Tommy Robinson did was wrong and why he deserves to get banged up for it.

I am SO ticked off about Roseanne- I loved the reboot! Also agree, ABC had to cancel it, especially considering that is far from the only racist idiocy she’s spouted off with. I was hesitant to watch it given her support of Trump, but I also watched the original all those years ago. They did a great job with the reboot, and it was realistic and not at all trump-supportive. Unfortunately there are lots of people who back him here, insane and inexplicable as it is– including members of my family. Who aren’t at all stupid so I really can’t reconcile it (we never EVER discuss politics). Only Roseanne seemed to back him on the show, and really just in that first episode – since she never did give any reasonable explanation for *why*, it WAS just like reality. Nobody has an explanation that makes any sense at all to me.

I love Roseanne too. One of the most realistic portrayals of family life I have seen in a sitcom, especially in the early seasons. Shame she couldn’t stop being a racist Rufus on Twitter. Tim Allen is probably very pleased. Tommy Robinson never impressed me much, seems there are very few people who match cultural ethics and national values with intelligence.
