Wanderlust

Dear Diary,

Tomorrow is my last day of work for a few days, and boy do I need some time off. Work has been so demanding lately and being short staffed does not make for matters any better. My boss just doesn’t want to admit that we need one more person. Current staff is running ragged and burning out, and yet my boss just doesn’t see it. How?? I’ve actually been looking for another job. Maybe on my time off, I’ll get a call for an interview. Fingers crossed. I’ve been looking to get out of the medical field for some time now. It’s just not the right fit. I know these jobs are in demand, but I don’t want to be another drone working their life away. I would love to have experiences and memories to look back on as I sit reminiscing as an old woman. I don’t want to sit there with regrets and shoulda’s and coulda’s and I wishes and what if’s….

One of my biggest wishes is to travel more. Not just to never been to places in Michigan, and not just to other states in the US, but to other countries. My biggest dream is to visit Italy some day. The culture, the food, the art *sigh*, one day I’ll get there. I’ve only been to a handful of states, and I’ve lived in 3 different ones. It’s just not enough for me.

When my grandparents retired, they bought a big RV and went all over the US. I knew I wanted to be like them when I grew up. I think my wanderlust came from them.

I have my own place, a secure job, a car…but some days I think it would be great just to sell my house, quit my job, pack up the essentials and the furbabies, and hit the road. One can only dream.

Anyway, Diary, 3 am comes quickly. I must get some sleep.
