To Contrast: Father and Son. A Cat.

This evening I sat across a Tim Horton’s factory standard table from my Father. Having just purchased $23 worth of Tim Horton’s consumer products (including a two cup tea-pot, mug, medium-tea and fritter), my father reminded me of my attempt with the EPSS (Environmental Program Studnet Society)  to take over the lease in the SUB (Student Union Building) currently owned by the Tim Horton’s franchise. The plan was to temporarily allow for a local coffee shop business to lease the small space and be given a window of opportunity to serve the students fair-trade coffee and baked goods at reasonable prices without pooling revenue to the pocket of a corporate monster (Opposition aside, I genuinely appreciate the Tim Horton’s Children foundation).

Allie’s aunt made us dinner the night before we left for Ottawa. She told me of a relative of hers who worked a landscaping contract for the current owner of Tim Horton’s (Ron Joyce). According to my dependable source, this fellow owns a personal airport equipped with planes…

Side – a note:
Allie’s aunt has the most beautiful, friendly, soft, playful, agile, and domesticated barn-cat I’ve ever had the pleasure to cuddle. I couldn’t take my eyes off it..or hands..or nose…prr.

Sounds very much like our own “Common Ground” at Queen’s, in our student union building (called the J.D.U.C). They serve fair-trade coffee of all kinds, among other wonderful delights. My favourite is their ham and turkey sandwich, on a sesame bagel. Mmm-mm!

That was me – pgw

ryn: Yup, musician I am, but a fairly talentless one. I’m a guitarist/vocalist, and love it, but unfortunately don’t have “what it takes” I don’t think. Still, i love it, and maybe one day I’ll get to gig. (doubtful, I’m too shy!) x Stop by again, won’t you now? C.
