FAKE FAIR..Political Rant..

 <POLITICAL RANT>
There is such a thing as being fake fair. After watching a poor congresswoman get shot I got to hear what the usual right wing know nothings like Sarah Palin had to say about it. I saw the "crosshairs" targets Palin had on her website. In her simple black & white mind, she claims the media is holding her responsible. She isn’t directly 100% responsible of course, but she is in a  position of leadership. She uses slogans like "take them down" and "reload".  The shooter likely has mental issues. But, she took these "crosshairs" down immediately after the shooting because she knew it was gonna bite her. She knew that her teabagger hate speech could trigger behaviour like this. How could she not be just a little bit to blame?

Anyway, what is fake fair?  Fake fair is pretending that both sides have legitimate positions on this issue. That the hate "rhetoric" is equal on both sides. That is complete crap. The Teabaggers hate rhetoric goes well above and beyond anything the other side says. I didn’t see targets on Obama’s website.

Ok, so what’s my point on fake fair? After listening to Sarah Palin asking Obama to "join her" as though she is above him made me write this. I have many American friends. In the true spirit of fairness I hear some of them say that they will listen to Sarah Palin and then to Obama before making a decision on who to vote for etc. That would be fair if both sides were presenting even remotely equal. But comparing Sarah Palin to anyone with half  a brain is being fake fair. Would you go to a debate between a geographer and a flat-earther? Would you walk away saying "Well I guess the world must be somewhere between round and flat?"
Let’s face it. Obama is intelligent and Sarah Palin isn’t. Obama is educated. Sarah Palin is about 2 I.Q. points above smearing her own shit on the wall.

You may ask why a Canadian could possibly care about this? The answer is quite simple. Sarah Palin thinks that it’s God’s plan to dig for oil, go to war, and possess guns. If she becomes president, she gets access to nuclear codes. And my country is right in between the US and Russia. It’s being fake fair if I pretend that she has a legitimate viewpoint here.

interesting! Hope youre doing better!

Well ranted, and I agree completely. It’s a huge embarrassment to this country (USA, in my case) that she is even remotely considered to be presidential material. But even the ‘baggers must realize that her support is fervent but narrow and a Palin nomination means an Obama landslide. But still,it’s so annoying that her drivel is considered important enough to put in the news as an alternative view. It just shows that she’s the only Republican with any personality or charisma, even if it only appeals to a small segment of the population– it’s controversy, if nothing else. Davo

Hey hey HEYYYYyyyyy…You talk about smearing her own poop like that’s a bad thing!?!?!? Is it difficutlt to get a gun in Canada? Here in America, wicked crazy people are able to buy guns with extended 30 round mags. As much as I love my country it often leaves me confused and wearing my pink chiffon dress while in a state of fear. Take care.

Amen! There is nothing that disgusts me more like the over-religious conservatives who contradictorily say: “We are Christians! We will fight!” – actual quote I saw from an idiot on FB. What? Jesus supposedly taught forgiveness and to never throw rocks, so how in the world can you even begin to place Christian and war in the same sentence? Sorry, that’s usually my rant with these people. Ugh!

January 16, 2011

Isn’t the story that people crucified Jesus and he asked the Lord to forgive them because they didn’t know any better? How do they make sentences that include Christian (the belief in Christ) along with revenge and war. UGH! Two things I hate: religion and politics. I know this had nothing to do with what you were talking about, but it kinda does. I’m with you. 😉

correction: I hate anything that separates people into groups. Ok now I’m done. haha

Random: It’s a common tactic called “tu qoque”, sadly. Good points.

Sarah Palin is about 2 I.Q. points above smearing her own shit on the wall. Winning sentence of the day! So true! Palin just needs to go back to the dark hole she crawled out of. If Palin is nominated for the Republican party, people will come out in hordes to vote Obama. I hope they are that foolish.

January 16, 2011

I’d give her a point and a half, tops. But really… Brilliantly said. Absolutely love it. I’d have nominated it if someone didn’t beat me to it!

January 16, 2011

Palin is brilliant. She plays the dumb card really well and unfortunately Republicans here in the USA fall for it. I will vote for whoever runs against her if she ever does run for President.

YAH
January 16, 2011

Palin is so stupid, it is a miracle anyone listens to her. Maybe because she uses religion to fool people. And she is a quitter too, just quitting her governor job when she feels like it. So much for serving the people. She won’t go anywhere. If she came to power, knowledge would become illegal, like it did in Cambodia. Off to the killing fields with intellectuals.

The funniest thing about the whole Palin/Teabagger thing is that THEY started their damage control BEFORE the media even suggested it had anything to do with them. BEFORE anybody made any tea party references, they were all over the media blabbing about how this was the work of a madman and should not be blamed on their rhetoric (meanwhile, she was quietly removing her target). Kind of like that kid in school who shoots a spitball at the teacher and then screams “IT WASN’T ME!!!” as soon as she turns around. They busted themselves.

January 16, 2011

I don’t think anybody in their right mind takes Palin seriously. I think she might do well doing the reality TV shows (aren’t they all train wrecks). Politicians will say what we want to hear. I try to check out as much info I can before I vote for anyone. Too many people vote on the so called big elections and not the smaller primaries and that is what causes trouble.

The scary thing is not that Palin says these things, it’s that people listen to her. If she were singularly campaigning no one would ever heard of her – but someone has put money, effort and time into getting her to this point. And the only way she can have got there is if people vote for her. That there are that many stupid people is the scary thing!

‘Would you go to a debate between a geographer and a flat-earther? Would you walk away saying “Well I guess the world must be somewhere between round and flat?” ‘ best line ever! you need to use this in a letter to the NY times or something.

Teabaggers! LOL. Good entry! CD xxx

This was a great read! It’s always interesting to see how perceptive Canadians can be regarding the political shenanigans that go on, down here. You certainly see through S.P. – (not that this is too hard, given her depth approximates cellophane.)

my kitty should be president. though, i have to say this; america, where women want women in political offices, then bitch about it when there is a woman. haha. it’s so female. cracks me up everytime.
