This Entry is Untimely, but then again, what isn’t

In my whirlwind attempt to bottle up the events of the past weekend and put it to prose, I forgot to write about my trip back to the Motherland….

I went home over Memorial Day weekend. A weekend which is inevitably bittersweet.

Memorial day weekend was the day my grandmother died, and I can never shake that. I had to go visit her grave, and the sadness just washedwashedwashed all over me. Nothing I could do, the feeling came rushing back…the rage and anger at what I can only call an injustice.

But that was only a small part of my trip.

I spent the first day shopping with my mother. Something I have come to appreciate more and more over the years. It was a great time. We were out selecting new mobile phone plans. It only took half of friday and the rest of saturday, but I did finally get myself an Iphone. So awesomely delicious; I love it.

I bought 3 new pair of dress shoes for my suits. Brown, light brown and an awesome dark red.

I also managed to get a hair cut. My hair is now back to the shoulders; I donated it to Locks of love.

The best part; my highschool sweetheart (who owns her own salon) cut it for me. We also had a chance to catch up, which was wonderful.

I also later had dinner with one of my old highschool friends and her husband. Another fun time catching up.

Had a cookout with my family; which was a great time.

Ran into a few other old friends downtown…..

But it came and went too fast. 4 days in PA is simply not enough; not with all the people I needed to see and all the things i needed to do.

It simply went by too fast.

I’m already looking forward to my next trip home; over Labor day….and I’m looking forward to my Mother coming to visit in July.
