Then There is Nothing…

May thy simpering passions rot in the throat
Speak not as the delicate tongue dips into poison
A house of razors bleeds across the bones
Not a thought but venom slaked; savage rhetoric

Coagulated and callous black iron
Forged o’er the fire’s tempest calling black stars
Merciless harbingers with vengeance ‘neath the eyes
I dare a spy a covenant with thy right hand

Would that it be so cruel? Lovingly brutal?
Ecstasy laid bare is not but a withering crone
No cruel truth is told than the lie of love
In the end, there is night, there is black and then there is nothing…

Love the last line…sure that is what poetry and writing is all about. What it brings to each of our minds. To the lonely lass it may beckon to leave the shore for dangerous liasons, for you my dark friend it is of the myths and magic past…for me it is fantasy and the power of water over man and what lurks unseen that I wish to be there and then sometimes not. Make sense?

I also like the line no cruel truth is told than the lie of love…

You know I thought that if one of my friends here would find some redeeming quality in this poem I thought that person would be you….and that is a complement my friend…

There is always a powerful line in your poems that strikes! “In the end, there is night, there is black and then there is nothing…”

So dark…and still beautiful. Not much has changed since last I read your work. You still are truly one of the best, and I am still entirely jealous of the insane talent that you, my friend, possess. I am once again stunned at the beauty of you dark words. I applaud you entirely. 🙂
