Smile as I Burn…

Destitution spills from mind to life
Rotting decay of thought
Seeps slowly onto the fragile frame
Twisted beauty become monster perfected

Harrowing this recollected introspection
Where the howl replaced pious prayer
O’er longingly stretch thy shadow of hate
Grins this savage snarl; vile joker

Hope is castrated, pitted and stoned
Lonely not untended under the waning sun
His scythe lay jealous in the swaying wheat
Playing under a vacant-less gallows

My fantasy was a sojourn into darkness
Now the rhetorical fractures reality
Sentient call slithers through the essence
Humanity slips away and I smile as I burn…

I apologize for my delay in replying to you. Thank you for reading, as always, and for participating in offering feedback of sorts. 🙂 We should always welcome good company. As always, your writing forces me to bow my head with compassion in my eyes and a grateful smile upon my face. You could be famous some day, Friend, if even in but a time that you are not available to witness it. Thank you.

I burn as well
