Moving

Julian and I are finally moving to a 1-bedroom apartment.  It’s pretty nice.  It’s been taken care of by the management better than our current apartment and you can see the ocean from the sidewalk in front of the building.  Another plus is that we recently found a place that make delicious pizza within walking distance of the apartment.

We’ve actually already started moving some of our stuff over there.  It’s mostly books, dvds, and our dragon and frog collections right now, but we plan on moving the rest of it in a U-Haul truck next weekend.  Getting some of those little things out of the way will help out a lot for the major move.  As it is, we each plan on moving 1-2 boxes of stuff every night this week.  Put it in our cars in the morning before work, then drop it off at the new apartment on the way home at night.

I’ve finally downloaded some of the new episodes of Weeds and started watching.  That show is hilarious.  It’s almost as hilarious as some of the top 100 quotes from fstdt.com.  If you’re interested in some good laughs, punctuated by the occasional realization at just how scary some people actually are in their thinking, that’s a good site to visit.  Of particular note is the mother who found a magazine with naked men under her son’s mattress and concluded that he must have a secret girlfriend that he’s hiding from her.

It saddens me though.  Reading some of those quotes makes me realize just how primitive our population still is as a whole.  We have a long way to go before we can even consider calling ourselves an enlightened species.

From what I see of the human race, we are “devolving”. We are reverting to apes. Then again , we’d be better offr with apes in Waqshington. 🙂 – – – –

RYN: I’ve seen those contracts, having adopted two dogs. They are nothing like those confusing cell phone contracts. I understood quite easily what the requirements were and what I would have to do in the case that the dog had to be given up.

RYN: Nope. I think if you don’t read a contract you can’t complain if later you find out that you signed up for something you don’t like. That stands for hard AND easy contracts. My point was that the contracts shelter’s use (in my experience) aren’t even that complicated. And when it’s something as important as a living creature, you should definitely know what you are signing. At least with a cell phone you can always switch to another company once the contract expires.
