Polly

Well I’m sitting here watching Along Came Polly.  It’s so funny.  I feel bad for the guy though.  I can relate to him in some ways.  I like to plan things out and only take the calculated risks.  I need a Polly Prince to show me that I don’t need to plan things out so much and sometimes it’s ok not to have everything calculated.  I think Julian is my Polly.  Not that he’s noncommittal or flakey, but he’s comfortable with not having a plan and a plan B and a plan C and trusting that things will be ok without him having every situation planned out in advance.  I can learn from him if I’m able to listen.  I have this sudden urge to go dancing with him.  I’m a shitty dancer, but we could get drunk and then I’ll at least think I’m a good dancer.  🙂

Anyway, It’s still hot here.  I need to get more light shirts.  Especially if I’m going to be living in CA during the summer.  I’d die.

On another note, I’m almost done reading A Fire Upon the Deep.  It’s a great book.  It makes sense now for the most part, but there are still some concepts that I can’t grasp, and I don’t think we are supposed to be able to grasp them, so that’s ok.  It’s a really neat book.  I would recommend it.  But only if you have patience to just read through the confusion.

This week will be busy for me.  A lot of reading.  And two papers.  I’ve got some preliminary mental work done for both of them, but they are just jumping off points and not very detailed.  The good thing is that I don’t really have to worry about my grades this semester.  I’m already accepted to a graduate program.  If I get a couple of Bs, it doesn’t matter.  Of course, I’ll still try for the As.
