…In So Many Ways

Love is the name they called it today
Looking at each other what else could they say?
It’s feeling, appealing, exciting, inviting, falling, calling, amazing, devoting, emoting, open like no other

Love is the game bandits do play
Grabbing a piece so the beating heart will stay
It’s stealing, wheeling, dealing, testing, taking and freeing, kneeling and praying for something left, stalking, talking, walking side by side

Love is the pain that won’t go away
Tangled emotions and words caught in a fray
Hurting, smarting, fearing, dreading, investing, infesting, breaking, leaving your soul leaking poured out on the floor

Love is a shame when it doesn’t pay
A lonely broken train where the heart will stray
Hiding, abiding, smearing, tearing, sweaty and leering, bleeding, controlling, accepting, rejecting, scheming, dreaming, suppressing, expressing, guessing, messing with your mind

Love like wetness in the rain
Love like a thought dancing in the brain
Love so rational, practical, logical
Love so spiritual, emotional, so insane

Love is a flame the wind will sway
Riding aloft like a feather or a jay
It’s growing, flickering, blazing, burning and yearning, feeding, filling, willing, killing, supporting, consorting, lifting, caressing, crushing and touching in such a careless way

Love is the same on a different day
Love is so strange
It’s more than anything anyone can say

Love is the name they called it today

Love

Love in so many ways
