Oh the itch!

I seem to be having an allergic reaction at the IM progesterone injection site. It is weird because everything was fine, aside from a little bruising and soreness, until two days ago. The entire injection area, on both side of my bottom, is red, lumpy, and very itchy. It looks like the location of every injection for the last week has suddenly gotten swollen and red.

I was initially really worried, but after looking it up on the boards, it seems pretty common. Most women were told to take a benadryl and were switched to suppositories. As weird as my husband finds it, I would rather take the injection than the suppository! We’ll see what my doc wants me to do at my blood test appt tomorrow. I am due to order more progesterone from the pharmacy anyway.
