Pricey but Priceless.
We took the kids to Paulton’s park on Wednesday (home of Peppa Pig world). It is a massive theme park with characters from Peppa Pig, tons of rides and animals as well. It was brilliant. It was quite expensive but really worth it. Chris told the kids we were going to Cabbage Land, which is a place we made up to annoy them. I don’t think they really believed us hehe. We had such a fantastic day. We went on loads of rides and saw all the animals and characters and it was so much fun. It was the perfect place for our age children. Most of the rides Lauren was tall enough to sit on unaccompanied but Liam and Joe were also tall enough to ride on with an adult. Joe ended up buddying up with Chris for most rides while Liam was with me. We went on al the Peppa Pig rides and also some rides in the Main theme park. The kids were so happy. Not one moan or complaint from any of them. They loved the log flume and the rides that went up in the sky. Lauren didn’t go on The Pirate Ship but she regretted it afterwards. We saw tortoises, flamingos and loads of other birds too. The best were the penguins and I got a really up close photograph of a penguin which was awesome. We left the house at 8am and got home at 9pm so it was a really fun filled adventure of a day. The sun was shining practically all day – it was just lush. I felt completely stress free and at ease. Gotta do this sort of thing more often. Only thing was the tickets are pricey! I think we will all remember this day for years to come though so it was also priceless! Liam keeps asking "When can we go to Peppa Pig World again?"
We are going to Blackpool at the end of October so that is something to look forward to as well. Chris has book a long weekend for us. Sat, Sun and Mon nights. Chris loves Blackpool. I am trying to get my mum to come as well. She has never been and I know she would love the Blackpool tower with all the ballroom dancing and stuff. Will have to save some pennies though because apparently the pleasure beach and The Sand Castle are pretty expensive.
The kids are only going to be small for a blink of an eye so i want to make the most of them. Give them as many adventures and fun days as possible.
My dad has said that if we want to go to Ireland next year he will give us £1000 towards it which is mighty generous of him. He would like to come too but he is very independent and would like to do his own thing. Trouble is he is 73 now and my mum says she doesn’t think he should drive the car all that way (to the ferry and in Ireland) I agree with her. He could come with us but he would hate to be tied down to being a passenger in our car. Hmm I don’t know. I am excited at the prospect of going on a proper holiday though and renting a cottage or something. Will have to get on with sorting it. I would like to go next August as it is Chris and my 10th wedding anniversary so that would be nice. Chris has never been to Ireland and would like to go. This next bit is gonna sound really bad but I kind of want to get it booked asap because my dad is getting quite forgetful and confused in his old age and if I leave it he might change it or forget his offer. Sounds terrible but we don’t get many opportunities for holidays and if my dad wants to do this I am gonna let him. If he did forget though I would not feel right saying "but you said you would pay" I would just leave it.
What else? Back to work on Tues booo – I actually feel alright about working there again now. I know it is only because I have had two weeks off and I feel really rested and chilled. One week of nights and I know I will be exhausted again. Still don’t know what I am going to do. Still confused cos am thinking – maybe it will be different once Liam is in school and I can rest in the day if need be. ARGH I don’t know!!!!!! I want someone to come along and say "This is exactly what you have to do" – sometimes too many options is a curse!!!
Oh yes I think some little bugger has bitten me. My arm looks bitten and it is red and sore and really itchy. Not happy. I have got some cream for it though so am applying that.
Went to slimming club last night. I only lost 1/2lb! Bit disappointed but I have had a few days out this week and my anniversary meal out so I guess a loss is good. Gotta be super good this week – I want to shift this weight!!!!! That reminds me – I don’t think I said about my anniversary. 16th August was mine and Chris’ 9th anniversary. We went out for a nice evening together. I was shattered though but still enjoyed it. We had a few drinks and went to Comso which is an all you can eat Chinese buffet. Love it. It was nice to have some quality time with Chris and we had a nice evening 🙂
That’s it for now I think!
That sounds really great!
