Less is More!

Wow it has been far too long since I have written yet again.

Been busy. Had a massive clearout of my house. Must have thrown out 30+ bin bags of random stuff, rubbish, old clothes, old toys etc. Things that clutter up my house and serve little purpose. I came to the conclusion that the less you have the more you have. I know that doesn’t make a great deal of sense but hear me out. (When I said it to my dad he thought I was crazy). Basically I had so many clothes I ended up wearing the same couple of outfits all the time. This is cos my drawers were chock a block  – I had dumped a big black bag of clothes in the bottom of my wardrobe months ago and hadn’t gotten around to sorting it through etc. By sorting them out and getting rid of all the old of wrong sized ones I can now actually see the ones that I can wear….so I have more clothes at my disposal. Does that make sense? Feel so much better because the house is now under control. I used to feel I was tidying up but never really getting anywhere because I had too much clutter. Now  when I tidy up the house actually looks quite good. Uncluttered house = uncluttered mind!

Check this guy out… http://www.youtube.com/watch – I watched The Hoarder Next Door on Channel 4 which inspired me to declutter. Of course my home was NOWHERE near as cluttered as these places. Like NOWHERE near but watching the programme did make me think about some of the stuff I was keeping "just in case" or for sentimental value.  Minimalistic is the way forward!!!

So what else? I have a week off work this week – hooray! Back in on Saturday. Yesterday was Lauren’s seventh birthday. Seven! Every year I am floored by how fast she is growing up. Seven just seems so old. We had a big BBQ at home on Saturday which was nice and Chris hired a bouncy castle which took up most of the garden!!! Yesterday Lauren had her friend Grace over after school and we went to softplay and McDonalds. They had a whale of a time. Lauren said to me "This has been on of the best days of my life" which made it all worthwhile. I have spent far too much money over this weekend so need to rein it in now for the rest of the month – story of my life.

I went out on Saturday night after the BBQ with Janine and my neice Rebekah. I was horribly drunk which is disgraceful for a woman of 32! TUT. No, I really regretted it the day after. I like to go out and have a good time occasionally but yeah I drank far too much. I ended up breaking my phone so had to buy another one for £100 – not good at all. I was absolutely gutted!!!! Never mind -live and learn.

The sun is shining once again which always lifts my mood. Plans for this week are:

Today, take Liam to softplay with Janine and her daughter. Weds not a lot – maybe swimming after school with Chris’ mum and the kids. Thursday – meet my sister and friend for lunch. Friday  – picnic in the park with the kids and my mum – weather permitting.

I watched the final ever episode of Desperate Housewives online last night. So sad it is over. That is my favourite show ever!!!! I might just have to rewatch the whole thing all over again before I start getting withdrawal symptoms lol.

That is all for now….

i love the hoarder programmes…they make me feel like my house is really tidy. I loved ‘how clean is your house’ for the same reason

I felt SO much better after I purged my house of things I didn’t really NEED.

Being busy sometimes is good … We did the whole house this week! And there were bags and bags of rubbish to be found! Ugghhh!

getting drunk is not disgraceful for 32 lol. I’ve just turned 33 and sure don’t mind! I have so much to declutter but just can’t seem to face it but know what you mean!

By the way, nothing like having your drawers choc a bloc – oh, wrong drawers!!!
