Biggest Loser

If I write about what’s on my mind (work) my head will explode, so I will write about the two hours I spent last night watching this show.

Is it going to be 2 hours every time? Because I’m going to have to start recording it. I enjoy watching it up until the weigh-in. I hate all the DUN DUN DUN commercial breaks. Then I hate the whole elimination process. So I’m sure I could watch all that in fast forward.

OK the show. Well my favorite people got eliminated. But how great did Curtis look at the end?! Mallory too, but he looked really good.

Embarassingly, I had tears in my eyes twice. One was when Mallory was talking about how she’s achieved so much in her life, and this is the one thing she just cannot get. I KNOW. The other was when Jillian (Jillian!) was helping Neill with his emotional issues. [This gets me sidetracked on another issue – I wonder how much time it takes to edit the shows. Are they seeing footage from later weeks when they are putting together a particular episode? Because it struck me that Neill had interviewed last week when they were competing for which trainer they would get that he wanted Bob, because he thought Bob could help him with the emotional issues. And it turned out that Jillian could! Of course I’m sure they choose to usually show "Touchy-Feely Bob" and "Hard-Ass Jillian" to make the show interesting, and they are not really so one-dimensional, but it was still an interesting development.] I think I’m back to liking Neill & Amanda now (this is the white team from OKC).

I definitely do not like: the brothers (black), the best friends (purple), and the mother/daughter (pink). I’m OK with: the ex-teammates (gray) and the strangers (blue). I’m undecided on the exes (yellow) and the mother/son (orange).

It was VERY IRRITATING through the whole weigh-in, when they kept cutting to the faces of shock and disappointment when people lost "only" 1, 2 or 3 pounds. Give me a break. What kind of expectations do they have?

I also notice that they always spend so much time showing the exercising. (Because it would be pretty boring to show people…not eating. I understand). But they never try to relate how the two together can affect the scale.  Like, Neill lost 6 pounds and Little Miss 20 Year Old said "Neill?! He does NOTHING!" Clearly something he did worked, and if he wasn’t working out as hard as the others maybe it was on the food side.

OK well I didn’t intend to start watching this show this spring, I cannot afford more TV time, but I think I’m hooked. Hopefully it will get me a little motivated.

i totally agree that they should relate the weight loss more with the food and the exercise. I record it too and fast forward at the same part you are talking about with the DUN DUN DUN. lol

I think I am rooting for the strangers. I hate how they replay the last 2 minutes after they come back from comerical breaks.
