Stress

I’m worrying my ass off.

My mom is out of state on vacation with her sisters, and she called me at 10pm tonight.  She said that normally Dad would have called her by now, and that he’s not answering the phone.  This isn’t normal, my dad is very protective and keeps in good touch with my mom when she leaves town.

I drive over to the house, and his truck is in the driveway.  The truck is cold, so he’s been home a while.  All the lights are off, even the porch light.  Not normal.  All the blinds are open.  I can see that the garage light is on when I peek in the front door window.  The garage is where my dad watches TV and plays around on his laptop.  I don’t hear the TV.  I hear the phone ring inside when me and my mom call repeatedly.

He doesn’t answer the phone or the doorbell, and Merlin comes to the door and starts to meow, when he normally would be upstairs asleep with my dad.  I have no key.  Many things are awry.  The glass door to the front door is unlocked, which is very very unusual.  My mom gives me the code to the padlock to get in the backyard, and I see the livingroom is dark and empty.  He’s also not in the basement.  I can see that the master bedroom has it’s blinds pulled up and open.

I can hear the worry in my mom’s voice as she tells me to go home.
