700 dollars..oh gosh.

So the mac that I typed on was shut down in the middle of an update  and now it won’t turn on again. It just stops and stays at the grey apple, and while originally the wheel spun like it was thinking, now that doesn’t even happen. so that was 300 bucks in the hole. There are no restore disks that came with it so I fear I will have lost out on the money. plus, I did tons of research and haven’t found an answer on how to fix this yet online save for sending in in to apple, and man, I’m not trying to invest MORE money into this that I can’t afford. So then I bought another apple imac g5 today, this one has a 500gb hard drive instead, and we really like it. It didnt come with restore disks either but this one came with a copy of the OS so hopefully if anything happens to it it will be fixable.  I don’t want to call apple customer service and try to get a set of disks because they will probably not give them to me anyways, since I am not the original owner of the comp and bought it at a liquidation sale. my luck!!!

Baby B is teething and fussing non stop. Oh the joys of being a mommy. 🙂

what’s the serial number on it? i’ll look at it’s warranty. if it’s out of warranty, you may be **** outta luck and may need to go to the retail store where they can try to boot it. otherwise… if it’s hardware, you’re screwed. macs suck. you said you do basic things, thus, get a pc. cheaper and does the same things. people buy macs stupidly thinking it’s a perfect machine, but not.

ryn; there’d be nothing i could do. you could try a new hd with a mac os installed, but i dunno how the system will run as it could be a few other things. least you’re finally posting online. stranger. never hear from you.

I like apples but if u you HP they have the restore disk saved to the computer so when something bad happens you always have them
