Sunday sweet Sunday
Just had a lovely breakfast with Amanda out on my verandah. She was out and about watering. I cannot believe how dry it it is here. April is usually a cooler month, however we have been have very warm days with the temp in the mid to high twenties. Celsius that is.
I have a show this afternoon. We are performing our freebie, for the Boronia Uniting Church. Last Thursday we did Walmsey and it was a great success. As I left the venue one of the audience came up to me and said, “Thank you so much for making me feel so happy”. It doesn’t get better than that.
I am going back into Theatre in September. I am just waiting for the rest of the casting to happen. An English show from the seventies has been released. Three very funny but pertinent episodes of “Till Death do us Part”. I think there was an American version as well.
I don’t think you could put a show like that on today, where the protagonist is so ignorant and racist. However it will work in theatre. I will be working with a fantastic actor Malcom S. We have wanted to work together for years but have been waiting for the right script. He will play the lead Alf Garnett and I will play his wife Else, whom he calls the Silly Old Moo.
I love her already. My main concern is nailing a London accent. However I am confident I will get there.
It will be directed by another lovely friend Pippi Le Blon. She is a gorgeous gal.
The photo is Warren Mitchell playing Alf and Dandy Nichols who play Else.
They have both gone now.
Have a great week everyone.
Oh the show could not be made now…nor could love thy neighbour for that matter…but they were of their time.
@neil You are so right. I remember love thy neighbour very well. Things were so much open back in the day.

Making people feel happy…I wish there was more of that going around. Hats off to you for being one who does just that! 🙂
Enjoy your warmer than normal April for us…it was 28 here this morning, and that’s not Celsius. 🙁

I do remember your love of theatre and it tickles me that you are still performing. Have any of your children or grandchildren picked up on the acting bug? When my daughter was in middle school, she wanted to be an actress. 😊

I remember a show similar to this here in the states with Archie Bunker as the husband. It played for many years. Hello again.
