I think I missed the question about how many books are in the New Testament and the one about which book comes after Colossians (because come on, how is that plot-related, I don’t know on which page of The Corrections Denise meets Becky Hemerling either, and I’ve read that book a lot), but I still think any truly ULTIMATE Bible quiz should require the testee to be able to distinguish between Oholah, Oholibah, and Oholibamah.* Also, the actual Hebrew names of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego,** and how come we call them by their Babylonian slave names when we never call Daniel Belteshazzar.

*Respectively, two sisters in a parable about the whorishness of Israel, and Esau’s Canaanite wife after she married an Israelite and changed her name from the heathenish and incomprehensible Judith. According to the text, “Oholah” means “her tent,” “Oholibah” means “my tent is in her,” and “Oholibamah” means “her tent is on the high place.” Someday I am going to get a pet corn snake which I will name Oholah Oholibah Oholibamah and refer to affectionately as “Tenty.”
