2 weeks in

Two weeks since I first started my Lupron injections. I have managed to give myself one black and blue bruise on my stomach. I don’t really know how I did it. I pulled the needle out and a big drop of blood welled up. The next morning I had a nasty black and blue mark that has now faded to am equally nasty purple and green color.

The side effects seem to be cumulative. My hips and lower back have been aching, cracking, and popping a lot. I am incredibly bloated and the nausea following the injections has been getting increasingly worse. My period came as it was supposed to. Everything but the PMS seemed magnified. I have been very lethargic and my cramps have been worse than normal.

I don’t really know what to attribute to the Lupron and what to attribute to my mind magnifying minor changes in my body because I am looking for them.

Regardless, I do not feel well. The majority of the time there is no specific place I can point to and say, “this hurts.” I just do not feel well in general.

I had my baseline ultrasound and blood work on Wednesday. The ultrasound intensified my cramping. I started taking four 1 mg Folic Acid tablets per day and one injection of Menopur today for a total of six pills and two injections per day.

My husband recommended the name Felix today. My initial reaction was one of immediate dismissal. Then I sat with it a bit; absorbed it. I like it! It’s quirky.

Only a week and a half to two weeks left!
