Log #1415

Seventeen ten.

Got out of the meeting ten minutes ago. It was easier than I’d expected to keep Stella talking. Wendel did a lot of the work and I only had to jump in a couple of times.

I could tell that Fran was getting frustrated with me instigating, but I’d told Ruby I’d make sure she had an hour, so I had to stick to my guns. We mostly talked about Ted. He’s really suffering now, and I don’t think there’s anything we can do to make him better.

Wendel said we should kill him before he turns, but Stella and I argued that he isn’t going to turn. He isn’t infected with the virus, and – as far as we know (or at least, as far as I know and as far as Stella’s let on she knows) – the dead can’t be infected with the virus.

I suggested we give him the choice, but Stella said that it didn’t matter what he wanted–we have an obligation to keep him alive for as long as we possibly can.

I honestly didn’t think I’d get into a debate about euthanasia while in here, but that’s exactly what it was. I’m surprised it was the scientist standing up for life over choice. She wasn’t wholly religious about it, but there were definite undertones in what she was saying.

Thought I’d have heard from Ruby by now. Seventeen forty-five.

She’s probably got the information she needs and run off. Doesn’t need any of us any more. Doesn’t care whether we live or die.

Oh, I’m such an imbecile… would help if I connected to the network.

Seventeen forty-eight. Next log shortly.
