First Date In 4 Years

Dear Diary,

FRIDAY NIGHT

Well after winning the auction for Cleveland Indians tickets, I got brave and put up an offer to win a date with me on craigslist.  I got a few hits, but picked a black guy from the east side of town.  We met at the Winking Lizard downtown Cleveland for pizza.  I arrived there first and had to get a number for us because there were so many people there who also wanted to eat before the Cleveland Indians game.  We waited, like, 25 mins for a table.  He was wearing a black shirt jeans, semi-attractive like myself.  I’ll call him MJ.

So MJ was really quiet at first, I just kept asking the questions.  But then again I remembered he said he was shy at first in his email to me, so I understood.  We got us a table and he ordered sausage and pepperoni on his half of pizza, I got grilled chicken & mushroom on mine.  He’s not much of a vegetable person he told me.  I’ve been trying to eat healtier myself.  We don’t have much in common, so we decided to just be friends at the end of the night.

I was expecting great seats for all the money we donated for the tickets at the auction.  We got uppers, like section 533.

There really was no scheduled giveaway, but we got magnetic schedules on the way in.  There was supposed to be a post-game fireworks show, but it was cancelled.  Near the end of the 8th inning it began raining and we had a rain delay.  We were losing to Oakland A’s and I was hoping we could come back after the delay was over.  We didn’t and lost, but I still had a fun time and a new friend.

SATURDAY

Had 4 tickets I won from a local TV station so tonight we went to the Lake Erie Monsters last home game.  It was also fan appreciation night.  I didn’t win anything, but got vouchers to 1/2 price seats at the home opener and at other home games.  I also went to the Cavaliers shop and got a jersey on sale for 10.95 from $44.  We lost that game but it was a fun game to watch, no fights really.  I was with my mother, brother and his girlfriend.  He, of course, was yelling for them to fight.  It was weird seeing him with a girlfriend again, but I hope he settles down one day.
