Hospital Scare
Dear Friends,
Yesterday afternoon I felt my mouth and left cheek start to go numb. And a few minutes later I felt the left side of my body was tingling/numbing. These are signs of a stroke, so freaked out I called 911. They sent an ambulance and people checked me out. The ambulance then took me to Lakewood Hospital for a diagnosis. The doctor said it was Paresthesia 2nd to hyperventilation. But I wasn’t breathing hard or fast when this happened. I’m still a little weird on my left side today, though not as much as yetsterday. I’m doing better, but this has been a real wake up call for me.
Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers today. Thank you my friends.
I saw this entry on the front page and thought I would comment. I had this happen once about 12 years ago (I was about 12 or 13 at the time) and it felt like it fell asleep and also like a stroke (or what I would imagine it would feel like). After about an hour it went away. Very scary, tho. I hope you’re okay!

A friend and coworker of mine had this happen last Tuesday. First she just ‘didn’t feel right’, then her left leg started tingling, and her left cheek. She felt dizzy and her reflexes weren’t as strong on her left side as her right side. She’s 24. They were afraid it could be MS, but the CAT scan and MRI came back negative. Her reflxes are back and they still don’t know what it was.
