Akron Weekend – Sun

Dear Diary,

Wow, it’s been a few days since Sunday, but here I go anyway.

I woke up around 5am because my mother was up and moving about, but I went back to sleep.  When I woke up for real, it was about 7:30 and I went to the hotel’s "Business Center" which is where they have their computer and printer.  Do most hotels have guest computers and printers now?  The Days Inn Albuquerque and this Fairlawn Courtyard Marriott both had one.  So anyway I started planning for our day, thinking we’d go to downtown Akron to walk around a bit and then go to the 2pm showing of Tuba Christmas.  But first I found a Catholic church in the area for both of us to go to.  I first looked for a UCC one, but I knew she would insist on a Catholic church, so I found her one.  It wasn’t actually Catholic, but Maronite Catholic, I guess the Catholic faith from Lebanon.  It was an interesting service, part of it in Lebanese I guess.  I felt like an outsider, but it was still an interesting experience.  Here is the website of the parish:

We then went back to the hotel and my mother took a shower while I noticed the Wizard of Oz was on TV.  Next I took a shower since I hadn’t since the day before when I was in the hot tub.  I’m disappointed there weren’t any cute guys at the hotel.
