dream home, sort of. ohsix.

Today, Shelby and I continued our apartment shopping. And I found it. I found the place Matt and I are going to live together. I love it! It has:

– a washer/dryer already there
– HUGE rooms!
– an open living room/kitchen
– front AND back decks (about 3×9 and 9×9 ish respectively)
– big picture windows in every room (except the bathrooms, of course :-P)
– two full bathrooms! (perfect for… well… I’ll talk about that later)
– a walk-in closet in the master bedroom
– freshly painted walls
– new carpet

It’s perfect! I love love love it. I want this place. We looked at somewhere around 8 or 9 places all together and some of them were really cute, but I fell in love with this one very quickly. I can already imagine our bed and our couches and the cute plants we’ll put on the decks.

I’ll be calling tomorrow to find out how long they will hold the place for us and what we need to do to get the application in since Matt is not physically here yet. He has all the paperwork ready for his transfer, and he just needs to look up the official names of the positions he’s willing to take (pretty much all of them!) and then have his managers finish their recommendations and such. Should be able to get that in by next week and then it’s just kind of a waiting game to see what he gets. By the time he gets paid next Friday, we will have enough money in the joint account that we opened to pay the deposit ($300 at the most) and get the water and electricity and such started. So, please hope for a transfer super soon for us!

Also, the second bathroom is perfect for when my sister moves in! She wants to live with us while she goes to college at Lander. Which we are not all for certain can or will happen, but we are pretty excited about the posibility. She doesn’t want to live at home with my parents, and she definitely doesn’t want to live in a dorm. She would rather not have a random roommate either. This way she gets to live with someone she knows, she won’t be buried if for some reason she can’t pay all the bills on time or whatnot, and she won’t have to live with my parents either. I think it’s a great plan.

Matt doesn’t mind one bit. He likes her a lot (they met, of course, when he came down to visit), and she’s my sister, so he considers her family. With the second full bath, there is plenty of room for the three of us (it’s kind of a must for her to move in), so we wouldn’t have to move when she gets ready to move in. We had planned on using the second bedroom as an office/computer room, which we will still do until she moves in. But when she does move in, there is plenty of room to move the computer desk to either our bedroom or the living room.

See? It’s perfect! So wish us luck for a fast transfer so we can get this place! 😀
