Gooooo Hawks!!!
Off to DSU tomorrow. JD is entering the world of Blue Hawks. Today she is crying.
30 years ago this week I loaded my car, and my brother and went to the same place. Full of anticipation, hope, and joy. I was so "grown up" I thought. No tears from me. Grab the world and hang on! It was so exciting. Not sure where all that enthusiasm got off to, but wish I still had it 🙂 oh, well thats how it rolls.
Gooooo Hawks!!!
All week has been a series of parties, sending off friends, saying goodbyes, one more laugh, one more story, one more hug.
Spent Tues evening with the mom’s and graduated girls from the hockey team. I tell you, Mr. M was pretty hurt to be excluded, but hey, it was a girls night. We laughed until much too late and had a great time telling stories on each other.
Wed night JD went to a bbq at her boyfriends parents home. They left today for Wisconsin. (thinking that is were most of the tears are coming from today).
Last night was one more youth group get together, dinner and fellowship.
Today is packing, tonight we are hosting a bbq at our home for our friends to come and visit before we all take off tomorrow.
After we get her settled in and fed I suppose, we will head up to the old home town and spend the night with relatives. Will probably need a hug or two myself by then.
She left me a note on my wipe-off calendar…it nearly, not quite, but nearly, made me cry.
Good luck Sweetie…Momma loves you too! I am gonna miss your smiles and hugs each day. Thanks for the million you have given me to carry in my heart.
~sniff~ and wiping my eyes…. So bittersweet…..

Hope she is adjusting well and finds DSU to be a good place to go to school… I remember 31 years ago, when my parents dropped me off there..I was like you, no tears, just wanted my parents to give me a hug and get down the road. two days later I was calling and crying..”come get me, I hate it here”…
