Much has happened, and there is much I should write… but, I will just say this for now.

I just made a presentation to about 30 department heads about the YWCA Week Without Violence, the local committee of which I am a co-chair, and which takes place the week of October 13-20. I was explaining the various days’ activities, and the ways they could become involved. I had with me one of the sub-committee chairs, who spoke about her day and about one of the other days on which she also serves. Altogether, that left me 5 days to explain, plus “making the ask” and so on.

I write this to say: after it was over, I went in to my boss to ask for a review of my public speaking. After all, I do not do it very often, and I am not able to run diagnostics while giving the presentation. He thought I did a fine job, and he scolded the group for becoming fidgety after about 5 minutes, which they always do (they already have this reputation).

He concluded with, “you represented your department and your cause very well.”
