4:32 pm

I am sitting here just bidding my time until I can leave.

I have 4 chicken breasts marinating in Pespi, soy, and lime down in our deli. I have 4 crescent rolls by my feet in a bag. Tonight is Bible Study, but its not a study night. Its a fun night. The plan is to meet at Pastor Chet’s at 7pm. If the weather holds, we will grill out! Then go play putt-putt, and maybe I can talk a few (like my Area51 friend) into go-karting, if they are running.

If its raining, we will go out to eat, and I’ll grill the chicken sometime this weekend.

Its a bad thing when one of the members of the Board of directors comes in and SEES YOU reading OPEN DIARY with NO OTHER work on your screen. That, and he came in to thank me for our bond election (we passed, 12:9) efforts. Especially when an “appropriate Internet use” memo was circulated on Monday….

Our swing secretary (she answers calls for our swing sets…just kidding) just came in to get a laserprint, and while waiting, described her evening plans of planting garden bulbs. As she started describing, I could barely hear her – I was transported to another year. This is the kind of evening when Trynity and I would clean out her large flower bed at the front of the house, down the circle drive.

We’d both be on our knees, and we’d groom it clean. We’d get done shortly before dark. Then, we’d try to find something to do outside – maybe walk the trail, or drive the mower over the trail. Then, it would be dark, and on a night like this we’d go sit on the back patio and watch the sky, or the flashes of light which surround her house during lightnening, since it sits in a shallow depression.

And she’d smoke, and I’d lay out on the deck, and we’d talk about things like what she wanted to plant where, and if we had enough “OFF!” for the start of mosquito season…. and, then our secretary’s printout came up, and I turned quickly around to the computer to distract myself again.

Pastor Dean is having e-mail troubles. I will swing by my apartment, change clothes and clean up. Then I will head to his house, troubleshoot that, then bounce to Chet’s. I am so looking forward to a wonderful evening out-of-doors!!

My car sounds like a POD-RACER!!! i must get a tune-up…

I am suddenly in the mood to so want to watch “Ladyhawke”…maybe I can fit that in this evening, too.
