nightmare
I had a dream within a dream.
In the dream I saw a town destroyed by such a calamity that its people cried out for God to save them, but city was destroyed none the less. Thre tornadoes were visited upon the town, from the northeast. They laid the downtown of the city waste.
While still dreaming within the dream, I dreampt that upon waking the horror or magesty too great to look upon was bearing down on me from my living room. It was a light too intense, too beautiful to look at, too face. I could not open my closest to it, for I was lying on my side, and I clawed away from it across my bed crying “No! NO!”
Then, I woke up from my dream within a dream, and I was inmy own bed in my own home, but this was still a dream.
I woke in my room in the dark, facing the window, facing the west, just as I dereamed I had been , and just as I was laying in reality. But behind me, each in their own bed, like in a motel, were both of my folks. My stepfather was dreaming, and he too was saying no, no. He may even have said “tornado!”
My mother was moaning in discomfort, as if ill. She was waking herself, moaning and mumbling to herself, “I feel so sick. Like something bad is going to happen” She was clutching at her abdomen, as if she were in pain. I went to her and helped her sit up. “I know,” I said, “A great calamity is coming. I dreamt of 3 tornadoes.”
As I helped her sit up, she was sweaty. And my stepfather sat up suddenly. After a pause, he quickly got out of bed, as if fleeing whatever he saw there.
While they were stirring, I went to my bedroom door and opened it. The air that poured out was impossibly cold. The ceiling light in the living room was on, but the rest of my apartment was dark, and went back to the east a great distance. Everything was rimed in a layer of frost or salt at the edges, and there was snow and winter further back into the dark, and there was a layer of snow. Then I heard the single crisp yalp of a dog, a coyote or wolf in th short distance of my apartment.
It was as if a gate had opened to the out of doors, and it was altogether evil. I colded the door again as I heard the third yalp from the dog.
My folks asked me what it was, what was wrong as they too felt the chill from the doorway. I told them I dont know, but it was spiritual and greatly wrong. Swiftly, but calmly and quietly so as not to alarm my folks, I went to my closet and got an old phone I have in there and got it out and plugged it in in the corner of the room by the window. Then suddenly I was in the closet again with my cellphone. I was thinking who I should call.
I thought Pastor Ed would be best. He is our senior pastor, he would get everyone together and come exorcise our house. But I somehow dialed Pastor Ray instead. Cheryl answered. “Is Ray around?” I asked. “Yeah, but” she began. “I know its late but this is a matter of upmost spiritual importance. “Okay, but he just got in and he had a really long drive…” she said. “You are welcome to listen too” I said, remembering her gift of prayer.
I am shivering as I said these things. Meanwhile, my folks had opened the door to see what was happening, and remembering the dog which again barked and the evil of the cold, I started to fear for them. “Oh Lord spare us from this”, I prayed. And I started to wake up.
I am a lucid dreamer, so I had also been scanning my real environment before I woke up. I confirmed as I was waking that there was a dog barking outside somewhere. It was bitter cold, the air stung my nostrils. I opened both eyes, and everything was as I left it. – – my doorway was half open, revealing the ceiling light I left on in the living room. The light would be shining straight into my eye, except my shoulder blocked the glare, as I was lying on my side.
I may not have been breathing. The sampling of air to find the temp was the first breath I recall. I am going now to check why it is to cold in here. This all occured after I went to bed at 1:45, its now 3am.
The furnace was still on, the temp at 65 (which is where it is set). By the time I got back to bed, I realized it really wasn’t that cold…. or maybe the cold had dissipated. Anyway, the above notes are exactly what I wrote when I woke up. Dream-analyzers, enjoy. Also note, Pastor Ray is out of town on a missions trip.
muaha!

How very, very creepy. I have some pretty strange dreams myself. It sounds like those dreams i had in high school. I sleep with music playing, and lots of times it would sneak into my dreams…
