A Time to Act
This morning, Ren said we move.
So we moved.
Our position was becoming less defensible due to an abundance of injured people, zombies, and people who were not injured or zombies. I feel like I’m somewhere in the middle. I believe my carbohydrate supplies have been exhausted… My breath has become horrendous. This actually mattered today.
Ren may be our wisest member, and Jonas may be our most tatically sound, but apparently it was my job to get the masses moving. Ren explained that he thinks he knows where the ninjas were coming from, and if we moved toward their direction, we would start to strangle their ability to come and go anywhere as they pleased. Ren also explained that I shouldn’t tell that to the masses, lest they decide that’s not a good idea. I didn’t like deceiving the masses, so when I pulled the able together for a meeting, I told them the truth. Ren was right, of course, and I knew it would happen, but many of the able cast the plan off as suicide and refused to go. Even as we got ready to march toward where Ren hoped would be a better strategic point, many fellow inmates gathered up their belongings, injured friends, and their wits, and headed off for a new shelter. I hope they’re ok…
We marched for half a day, and didn’t go far. Mostly we moved at the speed of the zombies, which wasn’t fast. We made it where Ren wanted to, I guess, but not without problems.
Whoever’s leading the opposing army understood Ren’s plan, and they sent a large number of enemies to confront us on the way (In daylight, mind you). So we had our hands full.
Oddly enough, I felt well enough to fight, though my strength was waining. It was an interesting feeling in the combat, a certain mindlessness that facilitated a better view of my environment. The lack of ability to think seemed to bolster my ability to act. Instead of thinking of new ways to dodge and weave, I found myself reacting automatically, wasting very little energy for the most part (A lot of very little energy is still a lot of energy, and I didn’t have much to begin with).
I found myself rolling off my opponents, flopping through them, and generally getting in their way. This would have done nothing, of course, since they’re soldiers, but I added a touch of theatrics, and that made all the difference. Suddenly stepping into their stance, and breathing horrible breath in their face cause many to reel back in disgust and fear. Accompanying that was my growling stomach and moany gasps for air. The effect was… sufficient.
Of course, I didn’t chase away their army, but I feel I had a strong effect on their morale, which has already taken a hit by our ‘zombie army’. We were fortunate enough to keep the rest of the zombies in the middle of our circle so that the enemy would not know their true nature.
Speaking of which… I really hope this isn’t Doughb0y’s permanent state. That would… sadden me more than almost anything else, I think. I miss his cheerful nature and sometimes odd actions. I hope he comes back to life fully soon…
Anyway, we’ve now dug in completely in a new location. Hopefully we can do better here than we did where we were up until this morning. I’m really hungry… Did I mention I’m hungry? At least Ren was wise enough to put us in another spot with easy access to water. Otherwise he’d lose me in a matter of hours. Well, it’s time to drink.
I have just spent the majority of a (work) day reading this wonderful journal. Thank you for very effectively killing the mindless boredom that is associated with phone answering. Also, do you happen to be a DM? If this question is entirely to nerdy… oh well. 🙂

First of all, I’m laughing hysterically over Tia’s question. Second, regarding cabbage, if you purposely make it liquid, then that’s fine. But if it made ITSELF liquid by being in one place too long, that’s a problem.

who the hell is Jonah?

Jonas, not Jonah! *smiles* Good move. Have some water.

I don’t know about everyone else, but I don’t know who any of the people you talk about are. I’m very confused.
Warning Comment
Oh, except Doughb0y. I know him.
