The Last Meeting
Well, with my doom upon me, I almost forgot it was an every other Tuesday. As one might imagine our discussions went immediately to death (the discussions didn’t die; we just talked about death). Now normally I’m not one to talk about death, there’s so much more to talk about in regards to life. However, it was on the minds of my followers who were there (there were less there than was usual, but that’s to be expected).
Not many wanted to discuss an after-life, and what it would be like. We all have our ideas, I suppose, but we don’t necessarily feel the need to share them. What we discussed, like the warriors I suppose we are, is a good way to die.
I got many suggestions of how I should prepare myself for death. Some suggested I should at least pretend to fight, or actually try to fight even though I’m definately the longshot. I reminded them of my views of fighting. Some were upset, but most seemed to understand that I wasn’t going to change my ways, especially in my last day. I got a lot more praise for ‘sticking to my guns’.
What is a ‘good way to die’? Many people would say "doing what you love". I guess I’d have to agree (as long as what you love doesn’t involve something horrible like torture). Of course many others would want the "Hero’s Death". Dying fighting for yourself/family/freedom/other. That’s a good way too, I guess. In fact, I have heard that the curse "May you die an unheroic death" was considered a mighty curse back in the day.
How do I want to die? Old. I want to die only when I have nothing left to teach those around me. I want to die only when I am no longer able to live by these terms. I don’t want to die tomorrow.
When I die… give Doughb0y my water.
And another curse? May you live in interesting times. I’m pretty much planning that you should outlive me by a considerable amount.

Okay, so funny story. Apparently, several people where I work believe that I have a brother, but NOT a sister. My friend got into a fight with one of the mail people, saying that I had a sister and a COUSIN, but not a brother. *smirks* Not that this has to do with your duel, but I thought you’d find my family interesting to hear about. A distraction of sorts.
