2007 – Year of the Human

Happy Chinese New Year!  While ‘The Year of the Human’ doesn’t exit, it should.  I just visited the Killing Fields this morning…can I have a cup of tea with my morning dose of human bones?  That’s right…piles and piles of bones.  I can’t believe that they simply leave them out like that, but perhaps a stark reminder is what we humans all need to remind us of what evil vermin we are.  Nasty.

In two years time (1976-78), 20,000 people were killed there.  There was a special tree for torturing children prior to killing them.  One method of execution was so barbaric that they refused to say what it was on any of the signs in the fields…will look for it on the internet later.  There was also another large tree from which a microphone would be suspended while emitting noises louder than those of the tortured people.  One particular mass grave site was labled, "Normal Mass Grave." HUH?!  Normal?  What would Äbnormal be?  The sign which read, "Grave with 166 headless bodies."

Perhaps it was because I really didn’t care to learn much while in high school, but I Don’t recall having been told about this event.  It’s definately not widely talked about as are the deeds of the German nutjob named Adolf…even though this is reportedly to be the worst mass execution site on planet Earth…more than likely because this country is so damn poor…poor people don’t matter as much as the rich, right?

If any men read this and are thinking of hiring a motorscooter to take to the site for a holiday, I have two words I’d like to share:  Athletic Supporter.  The road is quite bumpy.

No one is working today or going to school because of the new year.  The roads are packed.  My bus leaves for Vietnam in a couple of hours.

Peace

Us humans… sometimes we are nothing more than the worm in the apple. 🙁

No one, especially our liberal educators wanted to give this change of government and its activities much coverage for any of the history classes taught in the US.
