Re-supply

I am most happy to report that my penpal who will be meeting up with me is making a Copenhagen re-supply!  Whoo Hooo!

I ran into a couple of problems at my last hotel and had the E & E out of there and relocate to another hotel. The down side to having to vacate my hotel suddenly was the loss of my big backpack and all of the clothes except those on my body.  Bummer.  The backpack was about to be retired anyway as a result of old age.  I think I’ll jut buy $1 T-shirts everyday and travel much lighter.

Instead of flying in two days, I’m headed to Vietnam tomorrow afternoon by bus.  I doubt I’ll be able to get over the border until the 19th, which is when my visa is good so I”ll probably spend a night in a border town.  I’m sure THAT will be a lovely experience!

The place where I’m staying now is only $10 per night.  While the streets are filled with grime and trash, the two rooms I have been in so far have been very clean.  It’s no wonder places like this have such diseases.  I walked through a market place just now and literally had to ‘high-step’ through the trash in the walkway.  Nasty.  Absolutely nasty.

The bus ride to Saigon takes six hours.  It’s a bus for locals so I’m sure that will be an interesting experience…I’m betting there will be chickens strapped to the roof as they are on many of the vehicles here.

I’m going to visit The Killing Fields tomorrow.

I bet the chickens and pigs will ride inside with you just as they were passengers on the Chicken bus in Korea.
