Count Dracula

I regret to report that I am slightly intoxicated at the moment.  I accidently removed my sandals for a walk on the beach and showed up at this internet cafe several hours later with a slight sunburn, a chew cup, and a buzzing head.  Although I rarely excercise good judgement in this thing which is my existance, I brokered a deal with the owner of this place to kindly return my motorscooter to my hotel so I don’t repeat the same DUI incident I suffered in Koh Samui a couple of years ago.

While I was sitting on the beach sipping a beer (I switched to sipping after guzzling several), two ladies appeared; one was selling foot massages while the other was selling extremely fresh prawn and crab; I purchased both.  After downing loads of fresh shellfish and receiving a foot massage, I suddenly felt two hands reaching over my back as I read the book "Across China".  The hands grasped my chest in the pectoral region and began massaging.  I lept from the chair I sat in and turned to meet my quarry:  The foot massage chick (no chick…is a senior citizen and sister to the owner of the beach bar I was sitting at).  I made a ‘cross’ with the two first fingers for both hands, and said with a humorous voice, "BACK…BACK…BACK…"  HAHA!  Her bar owner-sister began laughing hystarically, looked at her sister, and said, "YOU DRACULA!  YOU DRACULA!"  HAHA!  Great fun.  We all had a nice laugh, and I drank for free the rest of the afternoon!  Nice!

I highly recommend Across China…is about an American who heads to Tibit/China to document the trek of some adventurers and their summit to the highest peak in the world.  1/4 into the book, I think I want to take up mountaineering.  Absolutely amazing, filled with risk and personal reward.

On another note, I read today that 1,000 people have been killed in Iraq in the past week.  Pathetic.  The government is no longer serving its people by remaining there.  Put pressure on your legislators to take the boys and girls home.  The time there should be finished.  Today.  John McCain, who I have undying gratitude and support for, said something along the lines of – We cannot pull out right now.  Think of the harm that was done by losing in Viet Nam…It will take us decades to recover emotionally from a defeat in Iraq.

Hey!  Even the best of fighters know when to call it a day!  Lick the wounds of battle and move on for Christ’s sake…or Allah’s sake…  Just GET OUT!  Most fighters have a manager they rely upon to ‘throw in the towel’ and stop a fight.  Our elected politicians are our managers…are they doing a good job?  Rummy wanted to remove troops from Germany (I am not sure, but I believe the last figure I read was that we currently have more than 58,000 troopers there), but he was shut down.  Why do we need troops in Germany?  Is there some rebellion there which has somehow gone undetected in recent (60+) years???  HELLO?!  What the hell?!

YOu’re right. YOu write well too. Whatever your blood alcohol count.

Okay, I would not have loaned you the book if I had known you’d get an inkling for mountaineering. Sheesh. 🙂

I’ve always loved John McCain but have been so disappointed in his statements lately. *adds book to “To read” list*
