I just wrote this whole entry, went to post it and my internet had cut out. I thought I’d lost the whole thing, but thankfully … autosave!

~~~
No entries for Friday and Saturday because we were at Claire and David’s wedding. It was absolutely beautiful.
Friday
Travelled down to Chippenham with James, Alfie and Carys. Journey took around 4 hours so by the time we got to the Premier Inn and greeted various people (we’re talking a good 20+ family members including some from America who I’d not met before) it was gone 5pm, so James headed off to the wedding rehearsal and myself and the rest of the clan went to the restaurant for some grub. James joined us just as we’d ordered and I had the most de-lic-ious rack of ribs I’ve ever tasted, then topped that off with an individual chocolate sundae because I’m a pig. The majority of people left by 9pm but James and I decided to stay with Nick, Carys, Sam and Harry and have some drinks, which ultimately resulted in Sam clearing the pub by loudly reciting politically incorrect jokes and an explicit game of I Never, in which we learned Carys is not as innocent as she looks.
Saturday
Day of the wedding. Got up at the crack of dawn (8:10am, but it felt like dawn!) and went for breakfast with Carys and James, then we all retired back to various hotels/rooms to get ready for midday. James had to leave before us as he had his usher duties to attend to, so Carys and I got a lift with Steve. The ceremony was lovely, and Claire’s dress was absolutely beautiful. The twins (Ellie and Megan, five) looked adorable as flowergirls, but then you could dress them in binbags and they’d still steal your hearts.
The sun came out literally as we stepped outside for photographs, so here’s one of the happy couple and the girls;
More to come in later entries once the official photos have been released.
We went straight from the ceremony to a huge hotel called the Bowood, where we had canapés and drinks, then sat down for the meal and the speeches. After that we nipped back to the hotel to grab some bits and went straight back for the evening do, which consisted of many alcoholic beverages and many more blisters on my feet. The only downer was that I snagged by dress on one of the wicker chairs and ripped a hole in it, but Brenda has very kindly offered to patch it up for me and I have complete faith in her. I also managed to forget all my money like a complete numpty, but as it turned out neither James or I bought a single drink for ourselves all night, so bonus! We left at midnight because I’m a lightweight and was getting tired, but the twins were still running around full-pelt as we were leaving and I found out the next morning they were up at 6am. Mental.
That brings us to today, which began with a 7am start and another four hour journey home, so I’m quite rightly shattered and will probably be heading to bed soon. I also need to buy a new camera because shortly after I took the picture in this entry, something went wrong with flash feature (whether I took a picture into the sun and the brightness mucked something up I don’t know) but now all my photos are bright white and have lines running up and down the picture, which is a bummer. Luckily the wedding was so spectacular I didn’t mind too much!
